It is just like the sky above us, it is one for everyone
After his brilliant first documentary movie “Metal: A headbanger Journey”, the anthropologist Sam Dunn made a second one “Global Metal”, I had the opportunity to see both movies in the previous months.
For sure, this talented headbanger made a fantastic work in both movies, I don’t know how he managed to interview all those Rock/Metal legends in person (Dickinson, Iommi, Dee Snider, Ronnie James Dio, Alice Cooper, Necrobutcher...) (too many die hard Heavy Metal fans would never have the chance to see them all playing live, not mentioning speaking to them in a private conversation), how the movie was financed in order to visit all those countries, attend all those metal gigs around the world.
The First movie, speaks about the origin of rock and consequently metal, and he traced the origin in African tribes music, classic music, jazz music… etc.
he interviewed a lot of bands and fans all from Europe and USA, he did not cross the frontiers of the 1st world.
For the second movie, he is going beyond the 1st world border except Japan and Israel ( I did not know where to sort Israel; but I will not like any problems from them, I have enough of my own:)); he went to Brazil, India, China, Indonesia, and U.A.E.
He searched for the local underground bands in those countries, he showed all the problems they faced and still facing till today, their ideas, their passion for heavy music.
This time he concentrates on the metal fans and local bands more than the well known bands.
He interviewed fans from Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., China, and Indonesia.
He introduced how the local bands merged their music legacy with the Heavy Metal and that a new wave of headbanger is rising.
Of course globalization affects Heavy metal as same as it affects Trance music, Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, all kind of music, you will find Hip-Hop with Indian flavor, a lot of Egyptian Rap bands are playing their music now.
But still the rock got this taste of rebel, passion, and eagerness for something you may not even know what it is, but you know deep inside that you are eager to do it.
Dunn showed that religion will not affect you passion for rock, and I witnessed this point when i went to Maiden concert, he spoke to Muslims, Jewish and christian people and all were sharing the same music.
I liked "Global Metal" because he spoke to fans just like me, sharing same ideology, and same passion as mine.
Finally, Global Metal is just as good as the Headbanger Journey.
It is a must see for everyone from our tribe. \m/
For the record, I am too much excited... For the first time I will see Iron Maiden performing live on stage, for the first time I will see any band of those I like performing live. They will play the good old songs of the 80ies, of course i will miss a lot of the stuff of the 90ies and 2000.... but still they are Iron Maiden, and I will see them in flesh and bone... It will be a night to remember, Friday Feb 13, 2009, the eve of the Valentine day, So, in this occasion, and from my position here, I wish a fuckin Valentine to everyone.
After the depression I had after listening to the new albums of Iron maiden " A matter of life and death" and Blind Guardian " A twist in the myth" I did not find any thing to write. But Mr. Shebak found that new feature to be added on blogs "box.net" what an amazing feature. I decided to share some tracks that I think they worth the hearing with rock fans. Iron Maiden Finaly released their 14th studio album "A Matter of Life and Death" on the 28th August I'm totaly eager to hear their new release today I will get the single "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg". Specialy that, this is the first album after 3 years from "Dance of death" were they reached the optimum melodies compositions and the lowest lyrics they ever wrote :( ( except in few tracks anyway) another post will be uploaded in few weeks concerning the single and the album. and i wish that i find the time to write a post in honor of this exeptional english, heavy metal band

مقدمة تاريخية طويلة (شوية)
السنة : 1997 الوظيفة : طالب المكان : هندسة إسكندرية – إعدادي المود: محدش فاهم أي حاجة مللي بتحصل – العك ده جديد تماماً من سنتين كنت بطلت دروس البيانو و تفرغت للثانوية العامة و مع الثانوية يحلي السهر و مع السهر تيجي الموسيقي بس الموسيقي اللي جتلي كانت غريبة شوية : Summoning, In Flames, Therion, Mayhem,…Etc بمعني أخر بلاكات أغلبها. نلاحظ في الفرق ديه إن كتيرمنها كارف علي Tolkien, لو فتحنا خرايط Middle Earth, نقدر نطلع 90% من الفرق ديه, غير أسماء الأغاني و الألبومات. كان طريقي أنا و الأخ شباك رفيق الكفاح يومياً – شرح لسكان الإسكندرية – من الكلية للنبراوي في شارع لاجيتيه و منه لسبورتنج محل فوتو2000 . و في يوم الأخ شباك يتهور و يشتري شريط :Pure Instinct – Scorpions – 1996 - كنت سمعت عنهم من عمي سنة 1985 و كانت Still Loving You – Love At First Sting – 1985 مكسرة الدنيا – بس كنت نستهم و انتهت معلوماتي عنهم من ساعتها. مهتمتش بالموضوع و كان تعليق شباك ساعتها :" أحسن استثمار للمصروف هو شراء شرايط" (مش حتعرض للموسيقي الفعليه اللي كان شباك بيسمعها في الفترة دي ) و بعد أسبوع شباك اتلحس مبقاش يشيل الشريط من الووكمان الجديد – غالباً باب الووكمان مكانش بيفتح – المهم الواد مخه اتهرش بالألبوم , حاول يسمعني مرة و كان تعليقي ساعتها " جتك نيلة فيك و في الموسيقي بتاعتك" و بعد P.I. شباك اشتري GOLD و كان الCover لونه إسود و عليه عقرب دهبي, كان شريط شكله يفرح. ده الموضوع بجد بقي ... سيد شباك : ممكن تسلفني GOLD أسمعه؟؟ شريط شباك لسه عندي و أخدت بعديه P.I. من شباك برضه ... و لسه عندي. و كان نهاية عهد البلاكات و بدأ عهد الROCK Scorpions جه بعديهم Bon Jovi, Queen , Aerosmith, Blackmore, …etc بعد المقدمة ديه من الواضح إني حتكلم عن Scorpions مش حتكلم عن Gold باعتباره Compilation حتكلم عن Pure Instinct باعتباره آخر البوم محترم ليهم بدل الCheesy Stuff اللي بيعزفوه دلوقتي Pure Instinct : Scorpions : 1996

متوسط تقديري للألبوم : 7/10 نلاحظ ارتفاع نسبة الlove songs 8 من أصل 12 أغنية ( الأغاني اللي جنبها*) لا وجود أو مشاركة في تأليف الموسيقي أو الكلام لأي فرد من الفرقة بإستثناء Klaus& Rudolf نفس أصوات الآلات كأنهم سجلوا الألبوم كله one shot صوت Klaus متميز في كل أغاني الالبوم و بالأخص :Where the river flows Are you the one نلاحظ برضه إن تسجيل Are you the one الموسيقي في سماعة واحدة و الكلام الناحية التانية ممكن تسمع الموسيقي لوحدها و الكلام لوحده الكلام في مجمله متوسط بإستثناء: Does anyone know Stone in my shoe Where The River Flows Time Will Call Your Name Are You The One? الموسيقي متميزة في أغلب الالبوم أما الback vocals فهو كعادة scorpions ممتاز علشان كده مش حتعرضله أسوأ اغاني الألبوم You and I و مش قادر أجد سبب مقنع لحب الناس الشديد ليها الكلام عادي جداً مفيهوش جديد , الموسيقي عادية , سولو الجيتار عادي, أداء الدرامر طبيعي مفيهوش إعجاز الريزم و الباص متوسطين .... طب إيه الحلو؟؟؟ مش عارف تعالوا نسمع مع بعض الألبوم من الأول:
- Wild Child: تراك ظريف جداً الأداء رائع , الأغنية سريعة و الكلام ظريف And her l l l love turn the man insane ينفع Intro محترم للالبوم - But the best for you: عودة لما يجيده Klaus و هي ال love songs الRhythm & bass متميزين - Does anyone knows: الكلام متميز أداء الكيبورد ظريف جداً و بيبان في أخر جزء من الأغنية , الbridge ممتاز و السولو قصير نوعاً بس جامد و جملة How can I trust anyone when honesty is such a dirty word تستحق التقدير - Stone in my shoe: عودة للأغاني السريعة الأغنية ديه من أجمل أغاني الألبوم , أداء رائع لكل الفرقة و خاصة الكلمات ,بالمناسبة الأغنية ديه اتكتبت في طيارة أثناء Face The Heat Tour. -Soul behind the face : كلام جيد مفيش حاجة تانية تتقال الباقي عادي بس الباص و الريزيم ظراف - Oh girl ( I wanna be with you): كلام هايف جداً بس Rudolf متميز جداً - When you came into my life: Music: Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker, Titiek Puspa, James F. Sundah مين الناس دول؟؟ كل دول علشان الأغنية الهايفة ديه؟؟ مش غريبة شوية؟؟ يقال إن فيه نسخة تانية من الأغنية علي البيانو و إن الفيديو بتاعها تم تصويره في لبنان بس الحقيقة أنا عمري ما سمعتها أو شفتها. لو حد عنده النسخة دي ياريت يقولي . -Where the river flows : بداية متميزة لKlaus عامل دويتو بصوته متميز ,الكلام جميل جداً الموسيقي متميزة جدا و لائقة مع الموضوع - Time will call your name: بداية موفقة للأكوستيك, اجمل كلام في الألبوم بالكامل - You and I : مفيش داعي إن الواحد يسم بدنه بالكلام - Are you the one: فرق السما من العما, الأغنية دي و اللي قبلها, لاول مرة علي حد علمي scorpions يستخدموا كمنجات في أغنية طبعاً النتيجة زي ما انتو عارفين رائعة في كل شئ, الكلام , الموسيقي, أداء Klaus - She’s knocking at my door: كعادة فرق الRock , عاملين أغنية تنزل في نسخة اليابان بس ... الاهتمام القوي بسوق اليابان في كل الفرق و اتعودنا علي ده بس Scorpions زودوها حبتين الأغنية سريعة , مسلية جداً, بحاول اعملها up load بس لسة مش عارف التكنيك
